Tilburg University, 21 september 2026 – Together with Fritz Ernst, Jan Cremers (Tilburg Law School) was commissioned by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) to examine how the European Union can close a gap in the protection of mobile migrant labor, namely, the absence of a structure by means of which mobile migrant workers can obtain low-threshold, trustworthy, cross-border counselling and support in the enforcement of labor standards and workers’ rights.
Ernst and Cremers wrote a paper in the series Future of Work that reflects the possibilities to anchor local counselling in a more permanent, EU-wide network, facilitated by the European Labour Authority.
